Genesis Chapter 49 Tomorrow will be the last chapter of Genesis, God willing... Some Highlights of this Chapter: 49 1 Jacob blesses all his sons by name. 10 He tells them that Christ shall come out of Judah. 29 He will be buried with his fathers. 33 He passes on. .............................................................................................................. 1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. ( in the last days., When God shall bring you out of Egypt, and because that he speaks of the Messiah, he calls it the last days.) 2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. 3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: (my might, Or, Born in my youth., while I was younger, much younger...)( the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: If thou had not lost your birthright by the offense you did.)1 Chronicles Chapter 5: 1 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his fathers bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
