Genesis is a book about beginnings..... The introduction of God. The beginning of the universe. The beginning of life. The beginning of time. The beginning of space. The beginning of sin. The beginning of the first murder. The beginning of languages at Babel. The beginning of Jews. The beginning of Israel. The beginning of Law. The beginning of redemption. The beginning of Covenants. If you dont understand the book of Genesis, the rest of the bible will not have meaning. If you dont know that God created the heavens and the earth then you will love the created more than the creator. If you do not understand that in the beginning it was about God, you will continue to want to work for salvation! If you do not understand that only Jesus can crush Satan, you will continue to fight your battles. If you do not understand that God set you apart and blessed you to be fruitful and multiply, you will work hard to try and succeed. If you do not know that you are a sinner because of the sin of Adam, you will think that sin defines what you do. Genesis is a book of power. So filled with the mind of God as pertaining to the rest of the bible. The moment I started looking at Genesis with a keen eye, I had an explosion of wisdom as revealed by the Holy Spirit. It started in Genesis and it will end in Genesis. The last book of the bible and its last chapter are a picture of the Garden of Eden. So we are moving towards Eden!
