Genesis is the assumption that at one point there was nothing and then in the unfolding of events in fractions of what we comprehend as time- there is everything, or at least the seed of all things that are or ever will be, had come into being. The known and knowable reality of existence has begun, put simply it is the beginning of the world. With our cause and effect understanding of reality, we experience life in a form of chronologically ordered events and so it is often expected to start from the beginning, as far back as possible, to get the big picture. A personal philosophy of life can aspire to such lofty goals of knowledge yet its beginning lies with a much more particular event, quite literally with the birth of your infant self, naked, without clothing, be it for your body, mind or soul. So my journey on the path of freedom will not use its first breath to make a declaration of faith or to cover my nakedness with any religion’s golden raiment of knowledge. I am left to say that whence this all came to be, by creation or by happenstance circumstance, remains as mysterious as it is miraculous.
