Genius in the Studio This is one seriously cool video for anyone who wants to get an inside peek into the creation of an iconic track. Brian Wilson at work at the famous Gold Star studios in 1966. He has Hal Blaine, Barney Kessell, Carol Kaye, Al De Lory and the entire Wrecking Crew at his disposal. In addition to the normal contingent of instruments that one might expect on a rock track hes added something else, accordions. Thats right, Brian loved the sound of an accordion, and used three on this session. I always assumed that sound was bass harmonicas... Phil Spector used them from time to time... but accordions!!?? Unbelievable. Check out the isolated vocal tracks at the end. NOBODY could do complex harmonies like Brian Wilson.
