Genocide Studies and Prevention: An International Journal (GSP) - TopicsExpress

Genocide Studies and Prevention: An International Journal (GSP) invites submissions for a special issue devoted to linking knowledge of prevention indicators and a proper course of action for early warning. This issue offers an overview of recent developments in genocide prevention in order to capture transformation that is taking place worldwide. The editors seek manuscripts that deal with the challenge of the prevention paradox by addressing early warning signs of violence. Manuscripts can address early warning stages, early response to violence, and the aftermaths of genocide, or a wide range of phenomena closely related to genocidal processes. The journal also welcomes articles addressing the translation of early warning research to genocide prevention policy. Articles addressing genocide prevention can include, but are not limited to, the synergies of atrocities prevention, the prevention paradox, and prevention efforts in the regional politics in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The journal also welcomes critical assessments of the ethical, legal, and practical implications of the responsibility to protect and the willingness to intervene in order to prevent mass atrocities. ... Please send your abstracts of approximately 150 words to Laurel Stone (laurelannestone@gmail) by 15 October 2014. After your abstract is accepted, the submission of manuscript will be done through the GSP website where you will be able to register as an author at scholarcommons.usf.edu/gsp/. In preparing the manuscript, please refer to the GSP submission guidelines at: scholarcommons.usf.edu/gsp/. Manuscripts should be received no later than 5 December 2014. Please indicate on the first page of the manuscript that the article is intended for the special issue “Towards the Prevention of Genocide.”
