Geological erosion is a serious threat to many landscapes around the globe. After considerable research, I’ve come to the conclusion that a major contributing factor is one which has yet to be recognised, let alone tackled by environmental authorities. I am therefore writing this to raise awareness of the dreadful impact of … Geologists. Seriously. Have you ever seen a geologist who wasn’t wielding a hammer and knocking bits off the landscape? This problem is further exacerbated by the presence of documentary film makers, which act as catalysts driving geologists into a near frenzy of ground mutilation. Further, there is a correlation between the production quality of the documentary, and the remoteness of the landscape which is under assault, threatening ever more inaccessible pristine wildernesses. I wish to draw attention to what I see as the principal causal factor for the processes described above: a nefarious organisation called “The Discovery Channel”.
