George Carlin is in many ways singing this. The wonderful wave-form manifestation of this bit is necessarily sing-song because sing-song is the best way to get over the often brutal information inherent in the tune. So much careful and guided narration. Carlins angry, fuming but hes eschewing pure rage to tell a much better story, sing a much more melodic song. If he was belting this stuff out ears would shut down. The story-teller, New York crooner vibe allows us to take on board all of what hes saying. Hes talking/singing to the audience like theyre his close friends and its like hes in the pub with something he desperately want to tell them. Theres very little humour here but theres a joke telling verve behind it, its a great way of getting the information across. I just wish he didnt say cock-sucker I hate that phrase as a put down. That aside this is how you get on stage and involve everyone in your song, its how you get them to join the chorus. Gx
