George Carlin was right about a lot of things, but not about time. His words There is no now. Everything is the near future or the recent past are a good attempt to come to terms with the phenomenon, but he does not understand that the Now actually is the only thing that really exists. Or, to be more precise: it is not even a thing. It is the totality of existence, caught up in a thoughtless moment. The Now is eternal: all else is contingent. Nevertheless the man is an absolute hero: speaking truth to power.
