George Hamilton IV died yesterday in Nashville. He was 77. He was a teen idol in the 1950s and a country singer in the 60s. He was never a great singer, but a fine journeyman who worked at his profession and by all accounts was a friendly gentleman and man of faith. He is remembered for the song Abilene and John D. Loudermilks Rose and a Baby Ruth. He is also remembered for this Loudermilk song released in 1967. RIP.
