George Moore, longtime Merchantville Resident George Moore, age 92, passed away suddenly on January 14. Recent Resident of Lutheran Crossing, Moorestown, resident of Merchantville for 24 years and Pennsauken for 35 years. Beloved husband of the late Millie (Pflaumer) Moore. Father of four children; Stephen of Coventry CT, Paul of Wall NJ, James of Merchantville, and John of Fenton MO. grandfather of nine and Great-grandfather of three. In his long journey from his birthplace of Sioux City Iowa, he was a Loving Uncle and Cousin, Dear neighbor and friend to many. And all will miss him. George treasured his plank ownership to the USS Bennington Aircraft Carrier and enjoyed reflecting on his service during WWII in the US Navy. He was an active member of Martin Luther Chapel for over sixty years. He was a construction supervisor for many large-scale infrastructure projects in the Delaware Valley and around the country. He was a spontaneous and generous person who used his woodworking talents to create practical and spiritual gifts. Many friends received a wooden cross. In these later years, he will be remembered for cruising the Merchantville Bike Path on his scooter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing with the family this Thursday evening January 22, from 7:00- 8:30 PM at MLC, Martin Luther Chapel, 4100 Terrace Ave, (Entrance is on Baker Ave) Pennsauken NJ, 08109. Funeral Service will be Friday, January 23 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A light lunch will follow in the MLC Fellowship Hall. Arrangements are through Stephenson-Brown Funeral Home in Merchantville, NJ. A private interment of ashes will be arranged at a later date. The family requests donations to go to Martin Luther Chapel at the above address.
