George Plimpton was a large inspiration when I began this career. His participatory journalism has never really been matched, let alone built upon. It was in that same spirit I spent many, many years being involved in so many different things and learning to learn, adapt and truly experience deeply the things of life. Also, I have a hard time not doing my part if I see something that needs done, embedded journalist or not. I have so much going on, so many different directions, responsibilities and decisions that I can sometimes lose the knowledge of my place in the world, which effects all of the above. Tonight, after fight weigh-ins and the past few weeks of working with these guys and Don, I sit here preparing for a long fight day tomorrow, looking at my Championship MMA team shirt and how invested I am personally in the victory of our fighters. It was in all this I remembered all the investment in Plimptons idea, and the belief I could build upon it that gave me the initial spark of passion, so long ago. And now here I am, because of all I am or perhaps in spite of what I am. I am here and the future will come again. May then I have made George proud and became a provider and succeeded in a lifes work. It is important in all this to thank Niko and Elite24 Health Club, who have done countless important things for me during this start of my professional career as well as becoming a trusted friend. #onward, -RKB
