George Villalon- has it really been 13 years since we tackled the longest and most traumatic drive of a lifetime? We both knew that we needed to get home from Philly and that it was not going to be an easy task. No rental cars but true love and devotion of a manager, Pam Polino, who loaned us her own vehicle. Miami bound for George and a plan to find a stopping spot for me along I-95. The long hours of chasing an Amtrak train in hope of placing our borrowed car on it and riding it as far south as we could, not realizing that trains were not running at all........ Looking up at the sky every time that we crossed a body of water on a long bridge...... Listening to the horrific descriptions of the destruction on the radio and developing those images in our minds....Wondering if we were going to be alive tomorrow, next month, next year or five years later......Stopping at South of the Border at midnight just to stretch and touch bases with other humanity. We did it George and we are still alive 13 years later my friend. I love you and all of my old colleagues who held each other up in one way or another on that fateful day. ALWAYS REMEMBER.
