Georgia Weather History for November 16th In 1989, a severe weather outbreak that started on November 15th in north Georgia continued into the early morning hours across central Georgia. In Wilcox County, wind speeds were estimated at 60 MPH causing downed trees and powerlines. Near Minter (Laurens County), winds ripped the roof off a mobile home which was then rolled a short distance. In Kite (Johnson County) the roof of a barn was blown off and several utility buildings were either damaged or destroyed. Fortunately no deaths or injuries were reported.
