Georgie says he gets his inspiration from watching the Blade films with Wesley Snipes, but he definitely has his own unique style. He made the outfit himself, his dress shirt with the torn off sleeves, spikes everywhere, the leather pants, the glitter, the bandana, and the best part is the umbrella he carries that looks like a samurai sword. Im just having fun man! People take pictures of me all the time, some people even want me to take pictures with their baby. I make people happy he told me while laughing. Even though he gets a lot of stares, and some people even mock him, he doesnt mind them. Im gonna keep on dressing like this till I die he said. Georgie is 66 years old, retired, living in a low income apartment, supporting himself on social security. He is single with no children. He spent his whole life in Los Angeles. When he was in high school, he won an art competition. Ive always been into being creative, expressing myself. He enjoys listening to music on public radio, 89.9 KCRW. He will record the music on his cassette player, and listen to it on his walks. He also enjoys playing video games. He recently bought an Xbox 360, and his favorite game is Final Fantasy. He said about the game man, there is a lot of reading and math in that game, its like going to college! (he laughs) but I love the challenge! I admired his care-free spirit, but I also saw his tender side when a homeless woman came up to us, and he gave her some money. I see a lot of lonely people out here he said. He admitted that he doesnt have any friends either, so he walks around the streets of downtown to be around people. Its hard to make friends in the city, especially at my age. The apartment I live in, are mostly young people, and Im old, and Im different, I know they are talking about me, but I gotta be me. So I gave Georgie my cell phone number and said Georgie, lets be friends! Give me a call anytime, lets hang out! And he gave me a big smile and a hug (the spikes kinda hurt), he said you got it John!
