Gerald and I celebrated 51 years of marriage riding Amtrak with our youngest grandson, Marshall Hudson, to Lancaster, PA. We visited surrounding cities, Hershey, PA, Strasburg, PA. and a large flea market called the Green Dragon. God has been so good to us! I thank Him everyday for our blessings. Hershey World was awesome! Marshall created a candy bar for his dad, Alton Hudson. He said, my Dad loves chocolate candy! We bought chocolate pretzels for his Mother, Karen Marshall Hudson. Pictures to follow. The amazing thing about this city is all the streets are named after some form of chocolate. Strasburg, PA was awesome, Amish country. We rode in the buggy pulled by to horses. Trotted around for 30 minutes visiting a farm to see how the Amish people live. Enjoyed eating family style at a restaurant called Bird in Hand. So much food on Thanksgiving Day at a table for ten. We had three types of meat, turkey, ham, and beef roast. Mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, corn, three types of homemade bread, (we ate the raisin bread with frosting on it), apple butter, and desserts consisting of apple pie, ice cream, cheesecakes, and chocolate mouse pie for our meal. Amish food was so good! Lastly, we went to the Green Dragon, four acres of flea market stuff. It was so cold there in the 20s and It had snowed the day we got to Lancaster. We had so much fun in the snow, especially Marshall. Anyway, we could not stay there very long, because of the cold. Those folk sit out there every Friday all day selling everything you could possibly want at discounted prices. A wonderful place to shop. I was totally fascinated! We looked like Eskimos. Amtrak train rides are quite delightful. So much space to move around in! The ride just lulls you to sleep. Until next time, it the Lord says the same. Enjoy each day to the fullest, because nothing is promised to us. Peace.
