Germany - : Court strikes out business IHT exemption but grants grace period The Federal Constitutional Court has ruled that provisions of the Inheritance and Gift Tax Act, under which certain business assets are exempt from inheritance tax, are unconstitutional. The government must now amend the law by 30 June 2016, but meanwhile the provisions remain valid except where they bring excessive benefits for heirs of family businesses.
