Gerrard departure Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has admitted he could leave the club this summer - if he is not offered a new deal. The Reds legend is closing in on 700 appearances at Anfield but is yet to open talks over a contract extension. He told the Daily Mail: Im only contracted until May. As it stands, Im here until the end of the season and want to make the most of it. I certainly wont be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season. Well have to wait and see if thats at Liverpool or some where else. Thats Liverpools decision. If they dont come then I will see whats out there.
