Get Ready.....as of 3:30pm, the storms are already hitting the Western Piedmont and Foothills and they are racing to the East at 40 mph and will arrive in the Triad over the next hour (eastern Triad next 90 minutes). We have a Severe T-Storm Watch (not your typical watch either....a PDS...Particularly Dangerous Situation) This is because storms are more likely to produce wind gusts over 75 mph. Normally we expect severe storms to be closer to 60 mph. These will likely produce stronger winds than normal. Straight-line winds are most likely. Tornado threat fortunately is LOW....still possible, but low. Everything should improve across the area NW to SE by early evening NW and mid evening SE.
