Get ready for three days of mind-boggling and death-defying performances from some of the world’s top street artists as the Durham Streets Summer Festival rolls into Durham City, Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle next weekend…and it’s free! Some of the amazing acts include a fire juggler and sword swallower, a one-fingered handstand on top of a stack of 16 glasses, a pogo expert, a daredevil acrobat and even a blindfolded knife juggler! Performances kick off on Saturday 23 August as the street artists take over Durham City between 11.30am and 5pm and for the first time Bishop Auckland, between 11am and 3pm. They then return to Durham City on Sunday 24 August, from 11.30am until 5pm, before the festival arrives in Barnard Castle on Monday 25 August from 12pm until 4pm. For more information on the extreme acts and performances and where you can find them, visit durhamstreetsof.co.uk
