Get some sense month: Proverbs 9 I want to focus on verse 8 which discusses the response of a wise person when he or she receives correction. The scripture says that a wise person loves the one that corrects him or her. I think this scripture is powerful because usually when we receive correction, we become upset with and offended by those correcting us. But truly, the only way to increase in wisdom is through instruction and teaching, which is oftentimes in the form of correction. A person who cannot receive correction is a person who cannot grow because he or she already believes that he or she knows everything. And, to me, that is a scary person, not only to be, but to also be connected to. There have been times when I did not receive correction with the right attitude or spirit and went on to make a fool out of myself- not fun. And now, though I may do a lot of things right, I still need to grow, which means I have to remain open and teachable. I have to see correction as a good thing-a God thing. For the Lord corrects those whom He loves, and He uses people who love us enough to correct and redirect us, if only we would receive it. Selah....
