Get this straight. The teacher is always in charge of your learning, no matter what. Just because you pay school fees doesnt mean that you are now in charge. You dont get to tell the teacher you want to learn other things until you get your basics right. Our model of drum education at Pantheon Percussion is that of apprenticeship: the student does whatever the teacher says. When his/her training is completed he will have learnt all the skills that the teacher has to offer and often will be better than the teacher. This is not a king fu movie where the teacher keeps a few tricks up his sleeve in case the student turns on his master. If you didnt practice; go home and dont come back till you have. We will be firm, but fair. We move on when you have done your part and not a second sooner. What do you think of that?
