Getting Carried Away – Every time a Bell Rings. . . Im not - TopicsExpress

Getting Carried Away – Every time a Bell Rings. . . Im not quite sure when the change occurred, I do know for sure that the year before our son was born, Joe and I went down to my parents for Thanksgiving. (I remember this clearly because by the next year, my parents had sold our family home and moved into my aunts old house that my Mom inherited.). . . Anyway, at that time, once Thanksgiving rolled around, every time you turned on the TV, you could find both Its a Wonderful Life and The Christmas Story playing somewhere on the TV dial 24 hours a day. Both of these are wonderful movies with heartfelt family themes. Its a Wonderful Life is a story of growth and learning to give up limiting beliefs, while The Christmas Story is what I call a slice of life movie. Like your favorite song that can get over-played to the point that you can no longer stand to listen to it, the message of both of these movies got lost under the groaning of Oh, no, not again! Since then, 1 station has picked up the rights to both movies and each is now shown on a very limited basis compared to what it had been. If you sit down during the 24 hours that it is showing, you can still over-dose on either one, but it is much more difficult now. Some people need to take a look at their business message in the same light. Whether it is due to the excitement that they have for their product/service or that they internalized the idea too deeply that people need to hear the message more than once before they are ready to act, Im not sure. What I am sure of is that talking to them is a non-stop pitch-fest and that the message gets lost. With that in mind, Im going to build the suspense and make you wait till tomorrow for any links or words of wisdom as to where you could be headed in 2015. In the meantime, think about your message. Is it strong and relevant or has it gotten lost in the chatter of non-stop retelling? New Years Day is almost here, so I need to go do some shopping for the ingredients for Crab Rangoon Dip, Egg Plant Soup, and my own secret recipe Spaghetti Sauce. I hope to see you all back here tomorrow. Happy New Year to each and everyone of you. May your 2015 be filled with hope and joy, peace and harmony, along with health, happiness, and prosperity!
