Getting Chummy with Tigers off Kona. Commercial shark diving is banned by the state of Hawaii, but that hasnt stopped local shark enthusiasts from creating their own shark diving site in front of Honokohau harbor. The tiger sharks are attracted by fish carcasses thrown overboard by boats returning from a day of fishing. Divers are now beginning to hand feed sharks. Without regulations or formal shark diving procedures this is going to get interesting. As the sharks get more accustomed to being fed by people, they will begin to approach tourists that are out for a snorkel with no knowledge the sharks are lurking nearby. Then what??
