Getting a little tired of people on here and Twitter saying that we need a new left-back; in doing so, completely ignoring Matt Targett, who should hopefully get his chance this season with Shaw gone. Also, all those outside the club (media mainly) and some Saints supporters saying our departures will weaken the club need to have a re-think considering where we were 5 years ago! Lambert - Pellè (50 goals in 57 appearances and an impressive assist record for the second best team in the Dutch league over the past 2 seasons. Lallana - Tadic (best player in the Dutch league last year and ridiculous record of creating chances. Shaw - hopefully Targett. We need another centre back to add depth (2 if / when Lovren goes); a replacement for Schneiderlin if he departs; possibly some pace on the wings, but we have depth in our academy products if Koeman decides theyre capable to make the step up. I trust Koeman and his judgement. I especially trust his coaching team, which could not be more impressive on paper. We might need to accept that we over-achieved last year, but as Koeman showed with Feyenoord, if we need re-generation, the club could not be in better hands. Finally, without anymore signings (which will probably not be the case) we still have a pretty decent starting 11 that could be mid-table or thereabouts: Boruc Chambers Fonte Yoshida Targett Wanyama Cork JWP Tadic Davies Pelle
