Getting back to the override. No doubt schools need money and they, like every government operated department, will continue to require more to handle the growth of our population, much by those interested in taking advantage of our questionable hospitality. I have no objections to providing funds as long as those funds are monitored in their use and the departments getting the funds are routinely audited. IMO it is critical that we start putting people in charge that have the skills to manage resources effectively and are measured on results. Politicians do not generally exhibit those traits yet everything is argued on political bases. So much money is wasted and misused and its past time we get regular reports about its use or abuse. Schools, as well as local officials and departments included. Councils should council.. Educators should educate. Administrators administrate, Managers should manage and be held accountable and responsible. That said I can support the override, but will be seeking periodic reports of progress or the lack thereof. Is that going to be possible?
