Getting home from State softball, its never over while your at the fields. I knew it would be a little in my face when I got home. I wonder how many times I have packed, unpacked, filled coolers, and ensured that there was Tylenol, Motrin, or what ever anyone would need for a softball game? The life of a softball mom, and a crazy one at that. I think of softball players, they play softball 10 months out of the year, and practice 12, going though all four seasons, sometimes even in one day (LOL), maybe a break or two to regroup but they fit softball in somewhere during the week. Unpacking I thought about all the miles we put on our cars, the trunk that never gets unpacked completely (chairs, extra cleats, glove, etc). Then I think of all the miles, wow the miles and the time in our cars. Southern softball for mom and dad, was over once with our oldest Kaylee Jane several years ago, what great team she got to be a part of, and under Coach Scheibs as well. They were a tough and talented 9, fun group and fun group to watch. This weekend Ellie Edmond played her last game for Southern Softball, the last for our family. Pretty hard to watch but wonderful at the same time. Bittersweet I think. time to move on to something new. Pep Rallys, Meals, Signs, Snack bags, and anything else that could be thought of to spoil some of the best girls out there. The too has been passed down. I think about the 4 teams Ellie was so blessed to be a part of. WOW. Freshman year, the hardest...your known as the freshman and yes your the gopher, the learning year, it was a very hard year. Sophomore, still learning but hey, not the freshman and for Ellie starting to focus on what the future could hold, great year and they were coming alive. This year, winning season. Junior year, time to show em what you got, another winning season, and records broken. The Senior year, work hard and continue to focus on making Southern Softball a great sport to be a part of. Ellie got to share this time with two wonderful Softball Sisters, and the SHS Softball Team! And the loyal softball fans, the mighty loyal SHS fans. Its was a great season, great four years, and like I said I got to see my daughter grow into a great ball player, humble, dedicated, and passionate. I would love to thank some of the best coaches and wonderful families that I as a parent and friend got to spend time with. As Ellie told me yesterday mom, its okay this aint my last game, and even if it was...its been a great ride! Proud Southern Softball Mom....ALWAYS. Thank you everyone for putting up with all my pictures, statuses and sometimes crazy moments, memories I will never forget it. Pam GO LADY RAIDERS 2015, until next year! Wally and I plan on being there, once a Southern Lady Raider Softball fan, always a Southern Lady Raider Softball Fan.
