Getting into Bollywood isnt easy at all! Unless, of course, you have a very famous relative in the industry. So, fly to Mumbai, and get ready for a grueling phase of your life. (Which might never end.) Millions come to Bollywood and they get stuck in queues, running after directors forever. Its a limbo unless youre good enough to break out. Join a renowned acting class. It always helps. The acting class, apart from improving your acting skills, will be a platform for you. Directors might come and pick people from those classes. Join Shiamak Davar (or any other) dance classes. Bollywood actors (male or female) need to be able to dance. Get into modelling. If you join Miss India contests and manage to become Miss India and then Miss world or something, your chances will be widened tremendously! The directors arent going to pick random strangers. They need to know you have an idea of this industry. Work on your looks. They are VERY important. There are a few actors who have managed to make it work purely on their acting skills, but thats quite rare. Work out, eat well. GET A GOOD BODY. Take care of your skin and your hair and everything. get a good attitude. A confident person always has an edge in auditions. Go for many auditions. DO as much as you can. Practise well in front of the mirror, and get into character. Remember to speak well and CLEARLY. N-E-T-W-O-R-K. Probably the most important thing in getting into Bollywood. GO to parties. Be good to fellows in Bollywood. They can be your ladder to the top. Meet new directors. New producers. Their wives. Their husbands. Their children. Their grannies. Family is very important in Bollywood, so every person you socialize with, counts. Keep at it. It wont be easy. You may have to try a million times. Maybe you wont get in. Maybe you will. But you have to keep at it. Meanwhile, get a side job to help sustain yourself. Being a junior artist doesnt get in much income. You cant afford to be picky. You might get weird or not-up- to-your-expectation roles. But that could be your only chance into Bollywood. Only a lucky person would get a break a second time in Bollywood.
