Getting school supplies into the eager hands of needy children is a year-long process. But time is running out before local organizers will hold their annual Back-to-School Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 21. Alicia Roberts, coordinator with the Ferndale School District, said the annual event, which occurs at Vista Middle School, is a chance for families that are most in need to gather supplies for their children before school starts. Roberts noted, however, that this year’s monetary donations were down, which is why the call for last-minute donations is going out now.
