Getting to Know our Father / Fellowship with God / A Message about Faith / A Message about Love John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 8:12 - I am the light of the World. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life. 1 John 1:5,10 - Now this is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him. If we say, We have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanes us from all sin. If we say, We have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say, We have not sinned, We make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 2:3,6 - This is how we are sure that we have come to know him: by keeping his commands. The one who says, I have come to know him, without keeping his commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps his words, truly in him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in him: the one who says he remains in him should walk just as he walked. 1 John 2:9,11 - The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother is in the darkness until now. The one who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and doesnt know where hes going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. John 12:35,36 - The light will be with you only a little longer. Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesnt overtake you. The one who walks in darkness doesnt know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become sons of light. John 8:31,32 - If you continue in my word, you really are My disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. A Warning about the World 1 John 2:15,17 - Do not love the World or the things that belong to the World. If anyone loves the World, love for the Father is not in him. For everything that belongs to the World -- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in ones lifestyle -- is not from the Father, but is from the World. And the World with its lust is passing away, but the one who does Gods will remains forever. John 5:24 - I assure you: Anyone who hears My word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life. John 11:25,26 - I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. #Everyone who lives and believes in me will never die -- ever. Do you believe this? The New Commandment John 13:34,35 - I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 14:21 - The one who has my commands and keeps is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and reveal Myself to him. John 14:23,24 - If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him. The one who doesnt love Me will not keep my words. The word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me. John 14:15,17 - If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of Truth.. 1 John 3:10,15 - This is how Gods children and the Devils children are made evident. Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother. For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another, unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil, and his brothers were righteous. Do not be surprised, brothers, if the World hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. Love in Action 1 John 3:16,17 - This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has this worlds goods and sees his brother in need but shuts off his compassion from him -- how can Gods love reside in him? 1 John 3:18,19 - Little children, we must not love in word or speech, but in deed and truth; that is how we will know we are of the truth, and will convince our hearts in his presence, Our Faith 1 John 3:21,24 - Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us we have confidence before God, and can receive whatever we ask from him because we keep his commands and do what is pleasing in his sight. Now this is his command: that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He commanded us. The one who keeps his commands remains in Him, and He in him. And the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit he has given us. John 14:12,14 - I assure you: The one who believes in Me will also do the works that i do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. John 15:7,8 - If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples. John 15:16,17 - I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit (good works) and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. This is what I command you: love one another. John 16:23,24 - I assure you: Anything you ask the Father in my name, He will give you. Until now you have asked for nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be complete. Knowing God through Love 1 John 4:7,19 - Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. Gods love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his One and Only Son into the World so that we might live through him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us and his love is perfected in us. This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us: He has given to us from his Spirit. And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the World. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God -- God remains in him and he in God. And we have come to know and to believe the love that God had for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this, love is perfected with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; for we are as He is in this World. There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears has not reached perfection in love. We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:20,21 - If anyone says, I love God, yet hates his brother, he is liar. For the person who does not love his brother whom he has not seen. And we have this command from him: the one who loves God must also love his brother. Keeping Gods Commands 1 John 5:1,4 - Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born of God, and everyone who loves the parent also loves his child. This is how we know that we love Gods children when we love God and obey his commands. For this is what love for God is: to keep his commands. Now his commands are not a burden, because whatever has been born of God conquers the World. This is the victory that has conquered the World: Our Faith! Romans 10:17,18 - So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ. But I ask, Did they not hear?
