Geyzing, Jan 26:The 66th Republic Day was celebrated at district headquarter, Geyzing with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The minister for Rural Management and Development Department, Mr. S.B Subedi was the chief guest who unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the premises of District Community hall here. Minister Subedi, is also the area MLA of Geyzing constituency. Addressing the gathering, minister Subedi urged the people to be united for the development of the nation. Minister spoke on the importance of installing patriotism among the people and asked them to spread the message of brotherhood in the society. “If we maintain good and healthy society than only we can contribute for the nation building process otherwise we cannot make our nation more strong and proficient” marked Minister Subedi. “Being as a citizen of Indian, atleast we should contribute some for the nation like obeying the rules and regulation as per the constitution of India. We forget our responsibility and talks only about rights, before averring for right we should also think for our responsibility as well. All this will give respect to our freedom fighters and guards who sacrificed their life for mother Indai” Minister added. Minister informed the various upcoming projects in Geyzing Bazar and its adjoining areas. Earlier, the District Collector (West) Aishvarya Singh read out the message of Governor of Sikkim and ADC (West), Kapil Meena read out the message of chief minister. A colourful cultural programme depicting rich culture and heritage of the state and the country was also presented by students of various schools of Geyzing and its surroundings areas on the occasion. The programme was attended by officers and staffs of West District Administration. The day was also celebrated at Soreng,Dentam and Yoksum sub divisions.
