Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has explained that sacking head coach Kwesi Appiah is not the solution to the Black Stars lame World Cup campaign. The Executive Committee agreed on Wednesday to allow the ex-international hold on to his job despite failing to lead the team to progress from the Group stage. By many, Appiah should have lost his job after becoming the first Ghana coach to suffer first round elimination in three World Cup finals appearances. Nyantakyi believes Appiah will learn from his mistakes and lead the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists to win laurels. “If you go and bring another coach, you are starting from scratch and there is no guarantee for success,” he told Accra-based Peace FM on Thursday. “Sacking people is not an automatic solution to the problem. “It’s not yet time for a change of leadership.” Appiah will sign a two-year deal when his current contract runs out by the end of this month. My Question is GFA President Akwasi Nyantekyi who had previously sacked coaches who had taken Ghana black Stars to the Germany 2006 One sixteenth stage and also the Quarter Finals stage of the South Africa 2010 is now telling us to give a coach who could not even qualify us from the group stages of the Brazil 2014 and two more years contract and that sacking him is not the solution, then what does he mean by that, cant you all smell something fishy is going on here?....what makes Akwasi Appiah so special from the previous successful coaches who lost their jobs that the GFA can not sack him after this poor performance in Brazil,i personally smell some conspiracy going on here but whatever that it is,Until Nyantekyi himself is sacked, then Akwasi Appiah will still be the coach, and Until this Appiah coach is sacked,i dont think Ghana stands any chance of securing the service of our talented players, and until we win back the heart of our talented players Ghana stand no chance of even qualifying for the African cup of nation not to talk of the World cup.We all know these players in question, their talent and achievement so far for the nation even before this coach took over and spoiled everything for us,so who is the problem here, the coach or the players? i think both Nyantekyi and Appiah needs to be investigated properly by a thoroughly international and neutral investigative body to bring out any hidden corrupted agendas going on between the FA and the Coach. until then there will no more black stars glory for Ghana. No wonder players like Jerome Boateng ,Danny Welbeck and the likes of Baloteli Bawuah chose Germany,England and Italy respectively over playing for Ghana. God save our homeland Gand! For the Lam Fam,Ras Finito Reporting!!!
