Ghana beware of The Dutch Disease-Late Prof.Kwadwo Asenso-Okyere(Ph.D,America,)r.i.p Sir,ex-V.C,Gh Univ(later Top Diplomat U.N.O)now a venerable ancestor,whiles delivering a Colloqium by the Gh Academy of Arts and Sciences,warned against mismangement of Ghs new-found Oil revenues,because in 25 years time,the Oil will get finished(depleted,)as Dutch/Holland once had Oil,but it got finished,and now pays more to explore in other nations reserves through its giant Multilateral agency SHELL et al,as current generation demands what did Politicians do with oil money,whiles country then,neglected Traditional exports(lets say in Gh Cocoa,Timber,Bauxite,Manganese,Diamond ecetera,)to Nations detriment,hence DUTCH DISEASE in Economist/International Trade numenclature,)so Gh governments ought to invest Oil money,whiles supporting production of Traditional Exports(especially Cocoa,)for our incoming generation.A word to the wise is enough.Happy Sunday,Beloved.
