Giacomo had a great lesson tonight with Sandy Velenosi on the ice! Sandy also had a special surprise, Bruiser from the Hamilton Bulldogs came out and skated with Giacomo and helped him work on his face offs. Giacomo is loving his new jersey too! Thanks to Breakaway Distributing! Giacomo picked the #68 to represent his battle! (6 for his age the year he was diagnosed and the 8 is the age he will be when he is done treatment.) Although Giacomo is battling some side effects from the chemo, he is determined to be back on the ice with a team next year. To us we see the old Giacomo as he looks great and is running around with a smile. Its times when hes on the ice or struggling to keep up with the other kids that the reality sets in as he is still battling cancer. He has about 7-8 months left of treatment. Days like today let him forget about the hard stuff and just enjoy being a kid! Thanks Sandy!
