Gift Shop Manager Maternity Cover – Sabi Sands 5 * Lodge This exciting position will involve the day to day running of the Gift Shop. Managing an aesthetically pleasing and cost effective profitable gift shop in line with budgets by maintaining a good wholesale supplier base. The shopping experience must provide guests with exquisite, current merchandise & artifacts in keeping with the local and African culture. To Apply for this job you need: • Preferably 2 years experience in running a Gift Shop in 5 Star Establishments • Retail Management, previous Sales experience • Good business acumen and understanding of cost of sale and gross profit • Microsoft Office, Excel • Understanding of stock taking and stock control • English speaking and fluent in written English • Driver’s License preferable • Excellent taste and a knack for knowing what people want to buy • Flair and creativity • A passion for art, culture, history of the area and for the shopping experience • An eye for detail and pleasing aesthetics • Computer Knowledge and Protel is an advantage • Good organizational and planning skills • Able to work alone and be self motivating • Hands on approach • Good communicator • Sensitive to cultural issues/ patient with colleagues • Excellent social and interpersonal skills • Sense of ownership and pride for the guests shopping experience • Team player • Flexible attitude • Able to interact with guests • Realistic expectations of bush life • Well groomed and a good sense of personal hygiene The job description: • Managing a cost effective, profitable gift shop in line with budget • Ensure the shop is aesthetically pleasing and create a shopping atmosphere • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the shop • Ensure administration, orders and invoicing procedures are adhered to • Maintain a good wholesale supplier base and ethical relationships with suppliers • Posting of all sales on guest bills • Packaging and timeously deliver guest purchases to the room • Form part of the hosting team, 4 hosting shifts per 2 week cycle • Assist with setting up of bush functions from time to time • Assist in lodge operations when not occupied with gift shop duties • Play your part in ensuring guests get lodge experience at its best The Package • R4196.00 Basic Salary • 2.5% Commission achievable on set Budget • Live-in basic furnished accommodation (possible sharing) • R741.00 food allowance over and above salary • 50% Company Contribution on Medical Aid and Pension Fund • 20 Bed nights for family and friends annually at R500 p/p/p/night • Kids Academy School for children under 5 • Various other benefits Please e mail your cv to us at cv@kendrickrecruitment along with any written references you have, a photo of yourself (head & shoulders) and 2 traceable references that we can contact.
