Gifts for God’s Children On December 17 and 18, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee held its annual Gifts for God’s Children program which was expected to help more than 4000 children and elderly. Many groups and individuals came together to make the event possible. One such donation was made in the form of 500 food baskets donated by “One Memphis / Team Max.” In total, almost 40 organizations including faith community’s schools, businesses and individuals provided funds and gifts. Goods were distributed to pre-screened clients at 24 locations in West Tennessee including: MIFA, The Rise Foundation, DeNeuville Learning Center, Shelby County CSA, Porter Leath, LeBonheur Asthma Clinic, and nine different Catholic parishes / schools. Catholic Charities of West Tennessee is the social services arm of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis. It is one of the largest nonprofit, multi-social service providers in the Mid-South with special emphasis in the areas of homelessness, children’s programming, immigration services, veteran’s services and emergency services.
