Gin strode out of the front door of the five star hotel; the electronic clock in the hall said 6:45. Eko Hotels, usually a beehive of activity, with a large proportion of their clientele expatriates, Diplomats and very wealthy Nigerians; men who are either seeing a mistress or on business meetings. She was wearing dark sunshades and a shawl over her head to evade identification; she walked quickly towards the car park, twenty yards away. She sighed with relief as she made it to her Mercedes SLK. It is not unusual to be mobbed by anxious and excited fans lurking around for a chance meeting of the movie stars. The shoot location 5 of her current movie THE BARRICADE has turned into something of a carnival. Everyday people gather to watch the shooting of movie scenes. The circus was unavoidable because most of the shootings were outdoors. The elite clients knew enough to keep out of the way as well as provide the requisite environmental setting. She has been at the location for a week now shooting scenes after scenes. The producers want this location wrapped up by weekend. The director of the film, Brian Walter was reluctant to let her go when she asked for the evening off. Gin are you serious? He looked at her quizzically We are outta here Sunday morning. His American drawls almost musical. Cmon, Brian, its just this evening. I will be back here tomorrow. She had said patronizingly, as the current Nollywood actress of the year she could get away with a lot. She eased into her car pausing to examine and admire the sleek car. She backed out of the crowded parking lot. The traffic was beginning to build up as she entered the Xavier road, an over flow of the famous Awolowo way traffic jam at the close of every working day. Fridays are usually horrible; one could get stuck for hours on the road. She maneuvered her car in and out of traffic for a while; earned a few verbal abuses from angry and overstressed drivers. She heaved a sigh of relief as her car nosed into the lane leading to her apartment. Thank God, I made it she sighed. Her apartment was just a few blocks away.
