Ginan with English Translation: Sayan’ji mor’e dar lago ek din’ko Din’ko re gadi pal’ko. O Beloved! I am afraid of a day, and also the hour and moment of that day. Please Note: The word gadi means time, corresponding with the Quranic term, sa’a. During the Ancient times in India, day and night were measured in gadi instead of hours or minutes. According to the Holy Quran: They are indeed in loss who give lie to the meeting with God until when the hour (al-sa’a) comes upon them all of a sudden. (6:31) Here, the hour (al-sa’a) stands for the gadi (moment) of death, which is also depicted in the following lines of a ginan:- Sayyaa(n)jee More Ddar Laago Ek Din Ko BY: SAYYADA IMAAM BEGUM sayyaa(n)jee more ddar laago ek din ko dinko re ghaddi palko.............sayyaa(n)jee....................1 Translation: O Beloved! I am in fear of one day(the Day of Judgment). Not only the day but even the time and the moment. kaachee mitiko ghaatt ghaddulo phutta(n)taa na vaagiyo rann ko.......sayyaa(n)jee................2 Translation: This body is like a pitcher made of raw clay which makes no sound when it breaks. aare kaayaa phulanakee vaaddi mirag chaare aare ban ko...sayyaa(n)jee...........................3 Translation: This body is like a garden of flowers. Deer grazes in this jungle. ek din saaheb sab ku(n) bulaave to lekhaa leshe til til ko...sayyaa(n)jee.........................4 Translation: One day the Lord will call everyone and will take account of even as minute details as a grain of simsim. kahet imaam begam suno mere bhaai to dhokho bhaa(n)giyo pelaa bhavko...sayyaa(n)jee.................5 Translation: Sayyedaa Imaam Begum says: O my brother listen!
