Ginger, Pam Nickoles with husband Tom, and Carol Walker met at the Canon City holding corrals Monday to meet and photograph the beautiful wild horses that were removed in the Wyoming checkerboard roundup last month. Fran Ackley was their helpful guide to over 600 horses. If you have considered adopting a mustang, now is the time! Please check out Gingers 100+ photos (many with neck tag #s) on this link: thecloudfoundation.org/tcf-media/photo-galleries/mustang-adoptions The next Canon City adoption day is Nov. 21, and information on adopting an American legacy is found on these links: blm.gov/co/st/en/BLM_Programs/wild_horse_and_burro.html https://blm.gov/adoptahorse/onsitegallery.php?horseCategory=99 You can adopt any time, (not just on adoption days) if you have completed your paper work and contacted the office there. If you live within 150 miles of Canon City, shipping is FREE. Contact the BLM office to find out about group shipping options if you live farther than 150 miles. The person to speak with regarding your questions is Lona Kossnar (719.269.8539 or [email protected]), but please remember there is a lot of interest in these horses and Lona will be working with all potential adopters.
