Ginny update: In spite of the trauma inflicted on her young body by humans, our little girl is going to be just fine. Ginny got through surgery with no complications and is headed to her foster home for several weeks of recuperation. According to her vet, Ginnys injury was very traumatic and her bone was in pieces. With some modifications to the site of the break they were able to put the pieces back together. For now, one leg is slightly shorter than the other, but the growth plates are intact and Ginny is expected to make a full recovery. Ginny was pretty enamored of Dr. Coleman at Northlake Veterinary Surgery, LLC and is thankful for his skills. When she was taken out for a potty break she was already bearing weight on the leg. The challenge now will be to keep her puppy energy on hold until the bone begins to heal. Surgery of this kind does not come cheap.
