Giordano Bruno, in the year 1584, shared his hypothesis of our solar system was not the only one amongst the cosmos. His views were countless stars and countless planets with more life then that of earth. However, he had no way to test it, but he was correct. The Christian church did not share the views that this one man had to offer, and was labeled for heresy and ordered to persecution, and flied. 15 years later he was caught and burned at the stack in front of the entire city. One of the most broad minded men of his time, murdered for a thought in a book. Question Everything, but never assume. Test, record, think, repeat; thats science, its more amazing then you know.
