Girish has called out to Celebrate the Festival of Lights on the new moon October 23rd ! Join GIRISH at Urban Yoga Center Jan. 17th 2015 for our Season Opening Fete! Diwali is a celebration of life, and its many joys. On Diwali we celebrate Lakshmi, representing all aspects of our spiritual and material abundance, we celebrate Kali, representing our strength, and Ganesh, representing our auspiciousness and wisdom. During this time we honor the significance of the victory of good over evil, the lights that illuminate our homes and hearts. We meditate on light, the light within each of us, the light that empowers us to commit ourselves to good deeds, bringing us closer to our divine nature. We only get eclipses rarely because the Moon has to be crossing the plane of Earths orbit at the same time as its new Moon, so that it gets exactly between us and the Sun, making this Diwali extra special. In Canada and North America we can watch the moon eat the sun in a partial eclipse. Sing Dance Chant Be Happy! Before then come join the Urban Yoga Warriors on the yoga mat…Sweet! Urbanyoga.org
