Girlfriend surrenders military deployed boyfriends dog to animal control Via Facebook Penny Eims Dog News Examiner Update 5/29/14: Banks has been rescued! Pulled by Pibbles & More Animal Rescue Banks, a handsome, one-year-old pit bull mix, was surrendered to the New York Animal Care and Control facility in Manhattan on May 17 - today, he is in desperate need of rescue. According to the owner surrender form for Banks, he was turned over to the animal control facility by the girlfriend of a soldier who was deployed by the military - she stated that she did not have time for Banks. Although the prior owners notes indicate that he is playful, friendly and knows commands, he has found himself in need of a New Hope Rescue partner because he displayed concerning behavior during his assessment; Banks reacted poorly to the fake hand used in the assessment - apparently the young dog did not like the hand removing his food or rawhide bone. Please take a moment to network this young dogs information - he did not ask to be put behind bars and he certain deserves the chance for a future.
