Give God Time: It took God just a few days to take Israel out of Egypt but it took Him 40 years to take Egypt out of Israel. It is easier to take you out of the world than it is to take the world out of you. God is changing you. Justification happens in a single moment of faith when God declares the sinner righteous, but sanctification is a work of a lifetime. Just consider where you were ten, five or two years ago. The challenges that you faced in the past helped shape who you are today. The challenges youre facing today are preparing you for the future God is preparing for you. Dont lose hope. Fight the urge to be overly critical of yourself. Fight the urge to compare yourself with others. God already knows youre not perfect. Applaud yourself for the progress youve made and be grateful to God for the person youre becoming. Trust in Gods transforming power to change you. Life is a journey not an event. Change is not an event its a process. Yes, youre not there yet but youre making progress. Some days youll misstep, sidetrack, or backtrack but each step with God will always take you forward and never backward. Tune off your ears from the disparaging voices around you. Keep your eyes on Christ and walk in step with God. Lasting change cannot be microwaved. Take one day at a time, step by step as He daily creates Christs character in you.
