Give and Prosper! The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself. (Prov. 11:25) As God’s prosperity gains dominion in our inner man, and as our words release and proclaim His abundance, our actions begin to flow from God’s heart. We become givers! The righteous gives and spares not. (Prov. 21:26) If you have received the gift of righteousness, then giving is a part of your new nature. Giving is God’s way of getting His abundance to you. He multiplies the seed we sow in every area of life. There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is due, but it tends to poverty. (Prov. 11:24) He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor. (Ps. 112:9) In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hand: for you know not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. (Ecc. 11:6) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you measure it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6:38) Sell what you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts. (Luke 12:33) But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully. (2 Cor. 9:6) Now he that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; (2 Cor. 9:10) Measure your prosperity by your giving, not by your getting. Let your righteousness give and watch what happens!
