Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free --Emma Lazarus from her famous poem that is engraved on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. yearning to BREATHE FREE I cant breathe --Eric Garner, an American mans, last words as he was slowly choked to death by a NY cop who will not be indicted. These last words mean something more to me beyond the literal. Because none of us can breathe at this time. We are not safe, we are not protected. For me it is a call for help beyond what was happening to him. It is a strangulated cry of you broke your promise. You never had any intention of keeping it. My breath is catching in my throat. I cannot let my guard down.
