Give this some serious thought before you jump to any conclusions before or after you read it. Of course the debate about all of these godmen and Messiah types, including Jesus goes on. Why is it important for humanity to find or even fake a messiah? Is it because of the fear of God or the gods? It seems humankind has always sought protection from an angry and frightening God or gods. Do we need Jesus to protect us from God? Or did Jesus try to perhaps reconnect us to God in consciousness? Can you still love God and follow the teachings of Jesus without insisting he replace the Old Testament God who supposedly changeth not? If not, is Jesus a better god than God or better at being god than God? The same scripture or God that says, Thou shalt not kill, reportedly and presumably ordered or at least ordained his son, Jesus to be killed to appease his wrath against all who dont believe or for only those who do and no one else right? Is God or your god, someone or something to be feared or just loved and revered? If he or it should be feared, why? Is he dangerous and threatening to hold eternal unforgiveness (hatred) of or for you while you weep, wail and gnash your teeth in hell? What do you really believe about all of this? And why do you believe it? And how do those beliefs add to or subtract from the quality of your life or of our world? Why are violence, death, killing and torture so important to your redemption? Dont other religions, like Christianity use violence, torture and death to defend its loving God? Or is it primarily Christianity? What say you? Perhaps you know the history of Jesus but not the mystery? How much myth and folklore can you honest accept before finally encountering your own soul in and as God? The floor is open. Have at it presumably in love, at least by you who claim to be Christians. WHO IS HORUS GILGAMESH? Many people have asked why I chose the pseudonym Horus as my pen name in writing the book. While I would consider much of this graphic to be full of contested pseudo-history (on both sides), I hope my comments below help sum up why it is a conversation worth having... DISCLAIMER: Yes, yes - I am fully aware that many of these items are hotly contested by historians and scholars of different opinions based on the same ancient texts and 19th century expositions by Gerald Massey, further perpetrated by the film Zeitgeist. I certainly wouldnt put much stock in at least 50% of what is displayed here as being accurate. However, this is not just true of the Horus myth, but the same could/should be said of Jesus - just using the four Gospels to question the validity of each others claims. So, Im fine giving a little leniency to a simple online infographic for the sake of discussion and debate, as there are enough kernels of truth here to hopefully get people to THINK, RESEARCH, DISCUSS, and... THINK! LET THE DEBATES BEGIN! Calm down, Zeitgeist critics! This isnt to say that Jesus was a direct manufactured rip-off of Horus and this isnt to state that all of the facts are true. Actually, this is to get people to think about the facts about Jesus, just as much as they dispute/discredit/ignore the facts about Horus. This might surprise most readers, but I actually believe that a man named Jesus lived 2,000 years ago and was one of the many wandering prophets of the day. However, when you look at the similarities of Horus, Bacchus, Krishna, Apollonius, Adonis, and Mithra - all who came thousands of years BEFORE Jesus. Well, yeah - it becomes pretty problematic to attribute unique divinity to Jesus (and much easier to attribute plagiarism to the authors of the New Testament, based on distant and ancient religions that few contemporaries knew anything about...) MY POINT/ QUESTION: For Christians and atheists alike, why is it so easy to dismiss the ancient myths of Horus, while protecting the more contemporary claims of Jesus? Why the free pass? Many modern Christians have never even heard of Horus, Mithra, Dionysus, Adonis or other gods... This is a problem.
