Given a few of the conversations I have had today with folks at home who contacted my office with regard to the Speaker’s vote, I thought the post below from Mick Mulvanney interesting. There are a number of us who cast the votes that we did, not because we were prone to go along with the Speaker, the ways of Washington, or because we had developed a loss of spine or independence…but because we honestly thought it was the best course of action in advancing the cause we both believe in. This vote was a battle in a much larger war about limited government and liberty, and I look forward to our continued work in that larger war.
