Given our ever increasing number of chickens and ducks plus another 20 rescues on the way in December it is back to recycle city! Once again another mans rubbish is now being converted into housing for our birds. We have managed to build a large chicken house which could fit upwards of 40 plus hens in and a duck house for up to 10. Perches,nesting boxes etc still to go in and then felt on the roof with guttering and a water butt will finish the hen house off. We will then paint it and fit some kind of lockable door and all of this for around £3.00 in screws and nothing for all the wood. Yes it is once again no oil painting and it is not brand new however something of this size new we have seen going for between £260.00-£340.00 so we have completed basically a freebie. When we do get a new shed/house we can simply deconstruct and use the materials for a straw drying store or many other things.
