Given that it is a day of worship for many, I thought that I would put-up a post of: Tommy Emmanuel, born 5-31-55, in Muswellbrook, New South Whales, Australia. He began taking guitar lessons form his mother by the at the age of four and became a professional, with his carnival touring family by the age of six. By the age of seven, he had won several national music talent contests in Australia. Also, at this time he became insired by Chet Atkins, to study finger style guitar, after listening to Chets recordings. By this time, the government of Australia forced his parents to enroll him in the public education system. He was the last guitarist to receive the most prestigious award in fingerpicking: The C.G.P., (Certified Guitar Player). It was an award given out by Chet Atkins. There were only four recipients of the award, during Chets life. In 2010, he was warded as a member of : The Order Of Australia, (AM). He has inspired thousands of guitarists world-wide to play finger style guitar and is a tireless-road-musician. In 2000, he performed at the summer olympics, in a performance that was viewed by more than two and a half billion people. He has performed with everyone form Eric Clapton to Chet Atkins.
