Given the apparent fact that wide scale fracking took place in the Fort Worth area where new deposits of oil and gas were discovered which has now developed into a rash of small earthquakes which have been particularly regular of late in the Reno/Springtown area one has to believe there is a connection. Whether fracking is to blame or not I do not know, but it does make sense to me that if you dig a hole and you extract through that hole lots and lots of gas and oil, you are going to leave an empty hole in the earth and that will at some point in time result in sink holes or earthquakes. Some may say, well we pumped water into those holes, yep, sure did, but did it stay there, and it it stayed there did it replace what was taken out...frankly doubt that, plus the fact is that water is becoming more and more a highly valuable entity, are we going to continue to waste it by pumping it into the earth where it may be gone forever?
